Orchestral Summer 2025

For the first year, Orquesta Escuela Zaragoza is organizing our own Meeting for Young Musicians in the rural environment of Aragon, aimed at artists between 12 and 23 years old.

​

The focus of the Meeting will follow the philosophy of El Sistema: it will be an orchestral meeting, with group musical practice activities and other complementary musical activities for young people with more advanced skills. There will be concerts and also recreational activities to discover the rural charm of the beautiful Villa de Magallón.

During the MEETING we will enjoy...

- Intense musical sessions, with at least 4 and a half hours a day of rehearsals by instrument, rehearsals by section and orchestral tuttis, led by award-winning and recognized conductors and educators with great experience with young people

- Optional master classes for advanced artists

- Extra musical activities

- Between 1 and 2 hours a day of guided recreational activities

- Free access accompanied by monitors to public spaces: the municipal swimming pools, the sports hall, and the paddle tennis and tennis courts

 

In addition, we will also have space for reflection and research, connecting with other cultural projects at a European level through Erasmus+. In this edition we want to reflect on the role of young people in culture and their possibilities of access depending on their origin.

 

Concerts will be open to all participants throughout the meeting. For more advanced artists, we will have the option of organizing micro concerts in small format (soloists, duos...) mentored by our team. The meeting will close with a large concert open to the public.

 

There will be a maximum of 70 places with the possibility of accommodation during the 4 days of the meeting. Participants will have the option of full board accommodation or taking the course without accommodation, which may or may not include food.

Faithful to our philosophy, the meeting will offer the alternative of requesting places with full or partial grants. For residents in Aragon, we offer support to directly manage the grants with the DGA. The remaining grants will be limited and priority will be given to artists from the Zaragoza Social and entities of El Sistema Europe entit.

 

The rural environment is an opportunity to imagine, based on those who preceded us, an alternative worldview of the rural environment from a contemporary perspective, without forgetting that it is practices, including cultural ones, that allow us to transform our beliefs and attitudes.
